The First 5 Minutes

Sometimes the first 5 minutes of your day can be a mini preview of how the rest of the day will unfold. You all know about those few precious moments when you wake up and realize that everyone else is still sleeping and you sigh and acknowledge these are the only few moments you will have alone for the rest of the day! You can surprisingly do a vast amount of contemplating, planning, scheduling in those few stolen moments. Today my "alone" time lasted a whopping 3 seconds! Then the little sounds of a sweet little lady lying in the crib next to my bed could be heard. She was waiting for her mother to come and help her out of a diaper that was anything but lady like!
So today marks the 2nd day of the no sugar, no pop regime. Surprisingly the pop part hasn't  been a major issue, however, Sunday is lurking around the bend. Sunday always seemed like the day meant for a pick me up!
Giving up sugar has required much more vigilance than I first thought. For instance when passed a half of a Tim Horten's doughnut one just automatically pops it into one's month. And for any of those readers out there that HAVEN'T had a trip Timmy's well it is one of Canada's best kept secrets. Puts Krispy Kreme to shame. Anyway, it has been tough, but so far so good.
Now it is late, I'm hungry and exhausted and just realized that I didn't get my walk in today. Well as Anne Shirley says in Anne of Green Gables : "Tomorrow is a fresh day with no mistakes in it!"
